For Craig's 30th, the original plan was to buy him a boat (yes, a boat!). Nothing fancy, just a used speed boat big enough to haul a waterskier/wakeboarder but small enough to fit in our garage (max 21ft - at a diagonal, haha). Ever since I met Craig he's been wanting a boat so we agreed to take the plunge and start shopping. About a month later, we found out we were pregnant. After much thought, we agreed it probably wasn't the right time to be buying a boat. Would we have time to use it? Could the baby go? Probably not... By then we had $5,000 set aside and instead of saving it for baby stuff (obviously the smart choice) we priced out what it would cost to renovate our master bath. We were confident it could be done and demolition began...
Like many home renovations, we went WAY over budget... Craig did EVERYTHING himself, from the electrical to the plumbing, all the tiling and the painting. He even built a wall to enclose the shower. When we ordered the cabinets, we also added a linen closet. There's still some accessorizing to be done (and we still need a vanity mirror), but it's functional and most importantly IT'S FINISHED!!
So what did Craig end up getting for his 30th? Season Tickets to the AZ Cardinals!! Needless to say, he's enjoying it :)
