Halvers Do Boating

It's a little known fact that when Craig and I started dating we would always joke that one day I would buy him a boat.       Over the years it would come up now & again and at long last we are now boat owners.  I've never seen Craig happier!

The best part has been exploring our state in an entirely new way! Arizona lakes are beautiful and there are surprisingly quite a few options from Phoenix.  

First trip: Saguaro Lake

Best trip:  Apache lake boat camping.  Our hike was a bust but the scenery was beautiful and we got a campsite on the water!

Worst trip: Bartlett lake boat camping.

We should have known when the trailer got a flat tire on the way there.  That was the beginning of our bad luck - I forgot my phone, took a nasty fall on the dock, then the boat wouldn't start when we tried to anchor for the night.   We decided we better just camp and figure it out in the morning. The funny part (we can laugh about this now) is that the only reason the boat didn't start is because it was not in neutral. Craig paddle boarded across Bartlett lake only to find this out once he got web service on his phone again.  A friendly fisherman brought Craig back to the campsite and we confirmed we made this classic rookie boat owner mistake.  My response gave us all a good laugh: "Are you f@$#ing kidding me?"  I was so happy when that trip was finally over but there is one thing I do love about boating: naps guaranteed!
