Born February 15, 2010 (President's day!) at 5:01pm, two days after my due date
7lb 12oz 20.5in long
I was in labor for 18 hours, starting at 11pm on Valentine's day. I toughed it out all night and was 6cm by the time we were admitted to the hospital! She was "sunny side up" so I was in back labor and spent nearly the whole time on the birth ball with Craig pushing into my back. By the time we started pushing, the doctor was able to turn her around and out she came! There was a point where I was a little frustrated at the lack of progress, but by the time I saw the head (yes, I opted to use the mirror) my only reaction was "holy shit!". No seriously, that's what I said. The whole room got a good laugh... Overall I have to say it was a positive labor experience, god bless the epidural!
The past 4 weeks have been exhausting, but every week is better than the last. More to come as I find the time :)
