Camping in January

Sunday, January 27, 2008

Who knew camping would be so much fun in January? There's an amazing place called Queen Valley only an hour outside of Chandler. I wish I brought my camera because the scenery was amazing! My parents of course brought the ATVs and a couple friends (they always know the best campers and fellow ATV riders!). Needless to say we rode all over the area, through some washes, and even to this large crevice in the middle of the desert. There's this one trail (3 hrs round trip) that goes from low desert to high desert to pine trees! I hear its a sight to see but that will have to wait until next time...

My dad did manage to get a couple pictures from the trip:
I blame Kimo for all the dirt on our faces. He likes to speed ahead and make dirt clouds so thick you can barely see (I'm sure he's laughing right now). We should have gotten a group pick becuase we were all filthy by the time we got back to camp.
And of course, the camping dogs:)

The Superbowl is taking over Phoenix this week... I've already noticed a lot more people in town because traffic has been awful. In addition to football, Scottsdale also hosts the FBR Open this week. This is a golf tournament that is always rowdy and never disappoints! Its going to be even crazier this year with the Superbowl in town. Time to rest up for an eventful weekend!

On a side note, I was reading through previous blogs and never mentioned how my fantasy football team finished. Believe it or not I made it to the championship game (I was just as surprised) but I lost miserably. Still a great season for my first fantasy football team :)
