14 in 14

I was inspired to have not one goal in 2014 but 14!!  There's no goal too small, and some were incredibly optimistic but nonetheless I was working toward these all year.

1. Take the girls to Disneyland - Done!
We went Feb 2014 for the girls birthdays, I have a feeling we'll be back in 2016 :)

2. Attend a concert at the Hollywood Bowl - it was hard to make a separate trip to LA for this.  I was hoping Craig would oblige in October so we could see Kings of Leon but he had sailing lessons and work :(.  He took time off so we could go to Cabo San Lucas though! More to come on that later...

3. Southern AZ winery tour - Done!
Happy birthday to me!!!! We went to the wine festival in Sonoita with Jenna & Mark.  Couldn't think of a better way to enjoy AZ wines...

4. See a broadway show - I decided to hold out until August 2015 so I can see Wicked at Gamage.

5. Whitewater rafting - wow, expensive! I signed up for any last minute openings and wasn't able to make it happen this year.  If we do it, I want to do it right and take a 7 day trip down the Grand Canyon and Colorado River on a motorized raft.

6. Get stronger, faster, better - improve baseline & set new PRs - Done! All weights for WODs, not max reps
1000k row in 4:12
115lb dead lift
75lb hang clean
85lb back squat
65lb thrusters

7. Hike 7 phx peaks - 4 down, 3 to go (before it gets hot again)

8. Try a new ethnic food - Mi Cocina Mi Pais with food from Argentina, Colombia, & Ecuador.  Arepas & the best ceviche I've ever had.

9. Get the girls involved in adopting a family for Christmas - Done!
Allison joined me and a few colleagues from work to deliver gifts for our Nestle Purina adopt a family.  The family had two girls 4 and 2 so it was great for her to help others her age.  Picking out birthday gifts for friends and realizing you don't get to play with them has been harder for her this year :)

10. Host a wine party - Done!
Funny story with this one... I decided to I wanted to have a dinner party with wine tasting, a few couples, Craig would cook, and I would find a nice range of wines.  Craig had a completely different idea in mind. He just brewed a clone of Pliny the Elder and wanted to have a Beer AND wine party so he could share his double IPA and get through the stout we already had on tap.  Our grown up dinner party turned into another red solo cup party with 40+ thirty year olds at our house.  We did step it up on the food with bread, a variety of cheeses, chocolate, buffalo chicken sandwiches, & stuffed mushrooms.   Wine tasting was fun because we blind tasted 6 bottles and wrote down just one word for our "vote".  It got inappropriate quickly... And we were all surprised that Trader Joe was one of the best wines of the night!

11. Take a class with Drew - this one turned out to be harder than I thought! All the toddler classes were weekdays during the day.  I'm going to sign both girls up for gymnastics shortly.

12. Family values w/Craig - great idea from Craig but still have to do it.  It's on our list for 2015!

13. Create a new family tradition - Done!
Game night! From Candyland to Sneaky Squirrel and even Monopoly Junior.  Drew just likes to count and Allison gets mad at her for not playing right but it's always fun.  Allison doesn't like to lose so we always end with a talk on good sportsmanship and a "good game" high five.

14. Setup 529 for girls - we have the paperwork, just have to send it in!
