My mom, Gail, and Laura threw a fantastic baby shower for Craig and me on January 17th. Actually, Craig wasn't comfortable committing to the baby shower knowing that the Cardinals could be headed to the playoffs so it ended up being a girls only event. My mom had a great idea to have the guests sign baby books as they arrived so we already have a ton of books from my mom with best wishes, advice, and notes to baby :) While I talked with everyone and grabbed a bite to eat, she had the infamous doo doo diapers with melted chocolate circulate the room. Gail organized an amazing food spread and Laura provided some great prizes to raffle off while I was opening gifts. Mom likes these things to move along so leave it to her to make things interesting! This of course stressed me out a bit because she wanted me to open gifts as fast as possible. I think I did pretty good. Amazingly, Craig and I got nearly everything off our registry! My co-workers threw a shower at work this past week so we got even more goodies and the remaining practical stuff we still needed. It really is a tremendous help having friends, co-workers, neighbors, and relatives shower you with baby gifts! Craig and I certainly appreciate everyone's generosity!!
