We've made some progress on the baby's room! The furniture came in early which is a relief because it was scheduled to come in as late as January 27th. The painting is done and we've already stocked up on diapers and wipes. Here's how it's looking so far:

Let me fill you in on our painting experience. Hopefully someday Craig and I will look back at this and laugh... First you have to know that Craig and I are both strongly opinionated when it comes to house decor. It's the reason we generally try to buy everything together. Because when we finally agree on something (couch, end tables, chairs, etc), we buy it! About two years ago we decided to paint the entire house. The only thing we agreed on was that the house needed to be painted a shade of brown - he wanted a darker color, I wanted something a little lighter and warmer. In the end, we had to hire a color coach to help us compromise (the house turned out great by the way!).

We had a similar disagreement when it came to the baby's room. It was already painted a darker brown, but of course this didn't go with the bedding we actually agreed on. Do we repaint the room or return the bedding? Since Craig didn't want to do anything pink and I didn't want to return the bedding, we started looking at paint samples in the grey/lavender family. The sample we moved forward with looked grey, but after two coats it was definitely purple! A nauseating purple. And we both hated it. So now what? The room was already repainted, not to mention Craig didn't want to repaint in the first place (he just finished the bathroom a few months ago...). We needed another mediator and called on Craig's sister. Unfortunately, we couldn't get our schedules to work out so Craig and I gave it one last try. We stayed in the grey family but this color wasn't right either. In the end our little girl's room is "polar ice" aka a very light shade of blue. At this point, it is what it is!

Here's the belly at 34 weeks!! Regan is hooking me up with the reverse five :)
