We just got back from Kauai this week. It was nice to relax in such a beautiful setting! There was snorkeling, surfing for Craig, shopping for Nicole, an ATV tour, and of course a luau. Once their timeshare exchange went through, my parents invited us to join them so we stayed in their condo for the week. The original plan was for us to pick up the flights since they were getting the lodging. I'm a loyal Southwest flier and they offered free trips to Hawaii through ATA so it sounded like a plan. Unfortunately, only a month before we leave, ATA goes bankrupt. Luckily Craig sees this on TV while at the gym one morning and we rebook before the prices went sky high. Still a bummer considering 4 tickets were originally going to cost us $750 (2 purchased & 2 free tickets). Good thing we didn't book Aloha airlines from Oahu to Kauai because they also went bankrupt last month...
Aside from the airline drama, it was a great trip! Oh and the one thing we'll never forget about Kauai is the roosters! They crow day and night, not sure if we ever got used to it but it does ensure you're up early!
